Mbappé and Hakimi fire PSG into Champions League semis

French giants recover from first-leg deficit to reach last four

Mbappé scores twice, Hakimi nets winner as PSG edge Barcelona 5-2 on aggregate

Paris, France - Paris Saint-Germain recovered from a home defeat and falling two goals behind on aggregate at ten-man Barcelona as Kylian Mbappé and Achraf Hakimi fired the French giants into the Champions League semi-finals.

Mbappé, who scored twice in the first leg, netted a stunning opener in the 32nd minute before Hakimi added a second shortly before half-time to cancel out Barcelona's two away goals.

Ousmane Dembélé had given Barcelona a 1-0 lead on the night with a superb 12th-minute strike, and former PSG forward Neymar made it 2-1 just before the hour mark with a penalty after Sergio Ramos handled the ball in the area.

But Mbappé equalised for PSG six minutes later with a brilliant solo effort, before Hakimi put the hosts ahead on aggregate with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

The result means PSG reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second time in three seasons, while Barcelona's hopes of winning the competition for the first time since 2015 are over.

The draw for the semi-finals will be held on Friday, with PSG set to face one of Bayern Munich, Manchester City or Real Madrid.
